The performer shows five solid brass discs enameled in five different colors and a tube just large enough to hold the discs. Both the discs and tube have a small hole in them for a cord to be threaded through
A spectator may select a disc. There is no force.
The discs are placed into the tube which is capped. A cord is threaded through the holes in the discs and tube. The spectator is asked to hold the ends of the cord with the tube hanging in the middle.
The performer opens the tube and one disc falls off. It is the disc of the spectators selected color and the other four discs and both halves of the tube are securely threaded on the cord.
Everything can be thoroughly examined by the audience.
